What is the Center on Aging & Longevity?
In 2004, we began the process of developing the Center on Aging & Longevity. While the Center will be prominently located on the East Beltline, it is much more than just a visible building. The Center on Aging & Longevity is Gerontology Network's vision to revolutionize the way seniors in West Michigan, and beyond, address aging issues.
Although the Center will house many of our current programs and services, the Center will also be used to build collaborations with other organizations and businesses serving older adults and caregivers. Our vision is to offer information that is relevant to all seniors, no matter where they are on their personal pathway to healthy aging. It will be "one stop" for all aging related questions.
Historically, retirement was one of the shortest phases of our lives. Today, the rapid aging of our population will have enormous effects on virtually all aspects of life. Our hope is that the Center on Aging & Longevity will change the future of aging by making programs and services more accessible, by addressing emerging aging issues and by educating our community on how to become more elder friendly.
